Pastor Jordan Secrist joined the family at Bethlehem in July 2018. He accepted Jesus Christ to be his Lord and Savior when he was 4 years old at First Baptist Church Alexandria, VA. He grew up going to church with his parents and younger brother and continued learning about what a life devoted to Christ looks like. Feeling the call to ministry in high school, Jordan began to grow into leadership roles within the youth group, working with the praise band ministry and preaching on occasion. As the Lord refined Jordan’s calling through his time in college, he felt led to pursue seminary after graduation.
Jordan graduated in May 2017 with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering (concentrated in Transportation & Land Development) and a Minor in Religion & Culture. He is currently in his second year at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary pursuing a Master of Divinity in Preaching & Pastoral Leadership and should graduate in the spring of 2020. He has served in several ministry positions, spanning youth internships in Virginia and Hawaii and pulpit supply for several churches in Virginia.
Jordan recently married his wife Abigail in June 2018, and she has quickly become his greatest asset to the ministry (in addition to his greatest blessing from God). She graduated in May 2018 with a Bachelor of Arts in Humanities and Bible from Columbia International University. She worked as a youth intern for four years at the Village Church in Blythewood, SC.
Jordan and Abigail love to do most outdoor activities: hiking, water tubing, and geocaching are some of their favorites. Jordan loves to play sports with the students such as basketball, baseball, football, volleyball, and ultimate frisbee. Abigail enjoys getting to know people over coffee and is a gifted creative writer and communicator. The two of them are excited to get to do ministry alongside one another and here at Bethlehem.
